The Unshakeable Kingdom

< Back to Blog

In hours of uncertainty, we must resist the temptation to call fear wisdom and wisdom fear.  In times of darkness, we must remember who we serve.  He is an unshakeable God.  We will go through storms, but even in storms, a boat can be steady in the water if it’s held by an anchor.

See that you do not refuse Him who speaks. For if they did not escape who refused Him who spoke on earth, much more shall we not escape if we turn away from Him who speaks from heaven,  whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once more I shake not only the earth but also heaven.”  Now this, “Yet once more,” indicates the removal of those things that are being shaken, as of things that are made, that the things which cannot be shaken may remain. Heb 12:25-27

In trials, you find out who you really are.  What is in you will come out of you during stressful times. Be careful that you do not stop listening to the anchor that holds us.  Jesus is that anchor.

Now when they had left the multitude, they took Him along in the boat as He was. And other little boats were also with Him.  And a great windstorm arose, and the waves beat into the boat so that it was already filling.  But He was in the stern, asleep on a pillow. And they awoke Him and said to Him, “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” Mark 4:36-38

Though Jesus was with them in the boat the disciples allowed fear and doubt to overcome them.  Don’t speak doubt.  Don’t give in to fear.  People go through things. And we can’t get so caught up in our own lives that we forget about others.  We need to be concerned about helping people stay in the unshakeable Kingdom of God.

People who are part of the Kingdom are shockproof. They keep their eyes on Jesus because they know He is the anchor.  God put His Spirit in you so you can also be that anchor for someone else.  Do your loved ones hear and see you taking a stand for God?  When the world is shaking are you solid and steady?

Being a part of the Kingdom starts with a new life.  All it takes is coming to Jesus.

Jesus answered and said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.” John 3:3

Maybe you used to be a part of the Kingdom.  You can come back.  Let go of your bitterness and excuses and say yes to Jesus.

Before Christ, my life was nothing but shaking, devastation, and loss.  But when I said yes to Jesus in my garage the shaking stopped and I started a new life.

Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.  Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ and has given us the ministry of reconciliation,  that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not [a]imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God. 2 Cor 5:17-20

Pills can’t help you.  The alcohol can’t soothe you.  Start a new life and take on the task of bringing others into this unshakeable Kingdom.  We are ambassadors and we speak for Christ when we say,

Come back to God!

There is a desperate need for people to calm the storms and fears of those around them.  To be what they have been preaching.  We wear Christian T-shirts, we post it, we preach it.  But people need us to bring stability.

God does not change. The Word does not change.  Do we have a grip on His Word?  Are we that shining light in the darkness.  The lighthouse for the wave-tossed boats in the storm? Dive into His Word and declare it over your house and others.   When you build your house on His Word no storm can shake it.

Why does God shake up the world?  He wants to turn people back to Him.  He shakes things up because of sin and disobedience.  When God speaks the earth shakes.  When God gave the 10 commandments Mount Sinai shook.

And Jesus cried out again with a loud voice, and yielded up His spirit.

Then, behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; and the earth quaked, and the rocks were split… Matt 27:50-51

When Jesus was on the cross the earth shook and when He raised from the dead it shook.  Jesus reaches out to us with an unshakeable love.  He will never leave nor forsake us.  His Word even says He is married to the backslider.

Don’t stop listening to Jesus.

Don’t let the internet, family, or friends be louder than the voice of God.  The Holy Spirit whispers to us.  God wants a relationship with us but sometimes other voices drown it out.  He gave us the word of God and His voice will not contradict that voice.  His voice may come as a correction.  It may come as a push to be more dedicated to Kingdom Business.  It may tell you to take up your cross.  This cross is not a negative thing.  It’s whatever God’s will is for your life.

The world may be shaking but don’t stop listening to Jesus.  The devil is always at work and will try to move you.  Keep your feet planted and let your light shine so others can stand firm on immovable ground with you!

PRAY THIS

Father, I declare over myself that I build my house on the rock. I stand on the truth of your Word. I  am the light of the world and the salt of the earth.  I am your ambassador and a carrier of your truth, healing, and peace. I am unshakeable because I dwell in your unshakeable Kingdom.  Amen!

MEDITATE ON THIS

Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:  and the rain descended, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house; and it did not fall, for it was founded on the rock. Matt 7:24-25
